Ed,
Thanks much.
We just received the carcase saw today and everyone marveled at the tote. Not only is the shape very nice, but the roasted maple is something else as well.
We've been meaning to write about the roasting process for about a year or so. I think your tote sealed the deal. Thanks much.
And by the way, the saw cuts beautifully as well.
Kind regards,
Christopher Schwarz

Ed,
My saw arrived today. I am quite pleased. The caramelized curly maple is a gorgeous honey color. I just hope I can do this saw justice in the use of such a nice tool.
…When I got this saw I was struck by the extra width at that part of the handle. Once I grabbed it and started making some saw kerfs I forgot all about the handle, which means it's right on the money, just a like a well fitted pair of new shoes. When you forget that you have on new shoes that means the fit is right.
I immediately noticed how easy this saw is to start… As you stated it will get easier as time goes on and that is a very nice feature in my opinion. You hand work on the teeth is most surely responsible for this ease of use.
As you know before I went into plane making full time I was a studio furniture maker and I am looking toward getting back to some recreational woodworking for my own enjoyment. I am determined that
in my new furniture making endeavors it will be a lot quieter in my shop and even though the use of hand tools was very prevalent in my previous work it will be even more so when I get back to woodworking at my pleasure.
Thanks again for such a wonderful tool,
Ron Brese

Hey Ed,
I got the saw today. It's a fantastic tool. It's beautiful, it cuts quite well and the notched tote is just fantastic.
Thanks for the work you put into this for me,
Ed,
I've had more time to look at the saw this morning. The medallion in the handle is quite beautiful and the detail work on the tote is exquisite. The inside corners are better than any I've seen and I know they're difficult to execute. The overall tote design works wonderfully with the other lines of the saw. I couldn't be more pleased.

…I have the Medallion saws out for everyone to use. My problem with them is that they are so good they are beyond my range of critical commentary. Everyone in my classes loves to use them, but I'll push them to make suggestions for improvement!
Thanks again for all your help!

Just wanted to let you know that I received my saw today. Just returned from giving it a test run in the shop. The tote fits my big hand perfectly and the saw cuts wonderfully. I really look forward to using the saw - didn't realize how much my hand was being pinched by the totes on my other backsaws until I tried this one!
Thanks again,

Hi Ed,
The saw arrived safely. It is beautiful. Of course beauty is as beauty does, so I had to put it to the test. It cuts very well indeed. I have to adjust to the "left-handedness" of it even though I am left handed, you don't get many saw handles set that way. It tracks perfectly. I even needed to reduce the thickness of some wood (small pieces) and used it for "re-sawing" to a thinner size and it worked great! Tracked well and was a cleaner cut than I am use to.
It is truly beautiful and is a welcome addition to my collection of tools.
Thanks again

Dear Ed:
I am very sorry for not writing sooner but business took me away just after the saws arrived safely. Your dovetail saw is a work of art; I could not be more pleased. The fit and feel are spectacular. My only problem is a sense of embarrassment that a tool of this quality is wasted on an amateur like me – it really should be in the hands of a master craftsman. It will at least serve as an incentive to improve my skill in using it. I also am very impressed with the improvement in the Disston with a proper sharpening – thank you again! I noticed the little marker pen marks adjacent to the teeth on the Disston – I take it this is how you keep track of which teeth are set to each side? Many thanks for making me a saw that is beyond anything I actually deserve.
Cheers,
Howard Lesiuk

Hi Ed
I’ve been meaning to write, but life gets busy sometimes.
Saws arrived on Friday, but since we were not home, I got them on Saturday morning. Packaged perfectly—thanks, I opened each one and marveled at the quality you put into them.
As I unwrapped each saw, I test cut it and got the feel for the balance. Each saw fits my hand perfectly and tracks a line just like it is suppose to. Smooth crosscuts and fine, quick rips.
I am very pleased. The note you put in the package suggested that the saw would “grab” initially—but none of mine did—they cut perfectly right out of the box.
Thank you for your work Ed—you have easily lived up to the many kind things people on hand tool forums say about you.
It was a pleasant experience doing business w/ you.
I’ll be in touch
Happy customer,
Gary Miller

Good morning Ed,
The saw arrived a few minutes ago…after a great struggle with the packaging I somehow managed to avoid injury to the saw and myself and was able to extricate it intact….what a beauty. The handle fits perfectly. I like the weight. I’m at work so I couldn’t compare it to my Wenzloff and I had to resist the temptation to cut into my desk which appears to be made of wood. I’ll give you an update Thursday.
Best regards,
Neil Stalker

Ed, I really like my tenon saw. I get a better fitting tenon than I ever got with a TS, and quick. I've looked this saw over and over, and the workmanship is just superb! I'm very happy that I asked you to make it for me. I saw a no. 9 backsaw of yours on WoodNet. What a beauty! I'm going to see what I can find on the significance of that saw and its use.

Saw came in the mail today Ed safe and sound and it looks great! Nice workmanship and I’m proud to have it. It will be the weekend though before I’ll get to give it a go. Will be back to you then.
Thanks again Ed.

Ed got the saw yesterday absolutely love it. You do amazing work. And the most surprising thing to me is how comfortable the handle is just makes me want to saw stuff. I could ramble about it but it comes down to. AMAZING WORK Thank you so much.
On the other note, I would like to order another saw from you. I would like to get a no 9 from you same wood on the handles. I don’t want it until late February so no rush just pencil me in a time for around then.

Ed!
I had a nice surprise waiting for me when I got home tonight. ;-)
What a beauty! That handle is something else, it even smells good (yeah, my wife rolled her eyes when I told her that, but she was a good sport and gave it a sniff too)! I really appreciated the included "caring for your saw" note. Its been a while since I've had a new saw and frankly I had forgotten how grabby they could be. Once my youngest was in bed I rushed down stairs to do some test cuts, and try to break it in (as you can see I also need the practice)...
Thanks again!
